Shear heads

Quadco produces two shear models; the 216 twin post is ideal for drive-to-tree bunchers. A large 6.0 sq.ft. side pocket combined with a cam-controlled accumulator arm and one-piece grab arm, operating in delayed sequence with the shear action makes it perfectly suited for thinning. The 21-inch center post high speed shear with extremely fast cutting cycles works best with boom machines and trees of various dimensions. Its centered accumulation reduces torsion effect on boom and side loading for better tractor stability. A regenerative valve adds speed to shear cycle.

216 Twin Post Shear

Highly efficient shear perfectly suited for thinning. Large accumulation side pocket for economical small diameter tree felling. 21" High Speed Shear

Single pass tree capacity: 21" Operating Weight: 5,410 lbs (no-tilt); 6,160lbs (40-deg); 6,690 lbs (360-deg); 7,215 lbs (360VI), c/w typical boom adapter and pins for swing-to-tree feller buncher. Overall height 100". Width 57". Depth 66". Extremely fast cutting action similar to continuously rotating discs, acheived by regenerative valve on shear cylinder circuit. Produces lower stumps than disc saw felling heads. Reduction in fire hazards. Positive tree control; 4 arms, 4 cylinders. Cast arms for maximum durability. All cylinders cushioned. 4.7 sq.ft. of small tree accumulation centered in head for reduced torsion effect on boom and side loading-better stability than side pocket type shears. Hardox shear knives 3/4" thickness standard. Hydraulic lines routed through centralized location for best protection and least downtime. Can be equipped with 40-deg, 360-deg or 360VI wrist for added buncher versatility in steep slope conditions. Adaptable to most feller buncher makes and models, swing-to-tree or drive-to-tree.
