Brushco® Brush cutting heads

Initially known as the Brushco® Brush Cutter, this 52-inch cutting swath forestry attachments has been in existence since 1989. It was developped in Thunder Bay, the hearth of the Canadian Shield where some of North America's most rugged terrains can be found. The Brushco® has proven its productivity, durability and cost effectiveness in multiple forestry, public works, hydro utility and land clearing applications.

The key to Brushco's performance is its mulching disc. Designed to work from the top of a tree down as well as over the side, it offers the best of both worlds. Two spiral of five Quadco teeth each mounted to the bottom side are for mulching full-size standing trees. Teeth on the periphery of the disc are used for taking down smaller material when working with the swing of the machine. An anvil system is designed to hold material for true cutting action and higher productivity. Options include a 90-degree lateral tilt for maximum versatility in difficult terrain conditions and a large Rexroth 160cc for superior performance where required. Both standard and optional motor models are piston-type variable displacement and fit most popular carrier hydraulic systems. The motor is mounted on two layers of rubber, absorbing vibrations. An integrated cross over relief assures anticavitation protection. Rotation is reversible and speed is 0-1800 rpm, creating a tip speed of up to 320 mph (515 km/h).

Removable guards made of two pieces have handles for easy change from one side to the other. Change takes less than 5 minutes. The head can be operated right hand only, left hand only, or both sides at once when conditions permit. The paddle with two free floating knives is no longer offered.
